Quick answer

Quickly calculate a price with or without VAT, using Estonia's official VAT rates.

To get the price with VAT, multiply the net price by (1 + VAT rate); to get the price without VAT, divide the gross price by (1 + VAT rate). VAT itself is always the difference between the gross and net price.

  • Gross price = net price × (1 + VAT rate).
  • Net price = gross price ÷ (1 + VAT rate).
  • VAT = net price × VAT rate = gross price − net price.

Estonia currently applies 24%, 13% (accommodation), 9% and 0% VAT rates.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Estonian VAT rate in 2026?

Estonia currently applies a standard VAT rate of 24%. Reduced rates of 9% and 13% (accommodation) also apply, along with a 0% rate for cases listed in the VAT Act.

How do I calculate VAT from a net price?

Multiply the net price by the VAT rate: VAT = net price × rate. Add the VAT to the net price to get the gross price: gross price = net price + VAT.

How do I calculate the net price from a gross (VAT-included) price?

Divide the gross price by (1 + VAT rate): net price = gross price ÷ (1 + rate). For example, at 24% VAT: net price = gross price ÷ 1.024.

What is the difference between 9% and 24% VAT?

9% is a reduced VAT rate that applies to specific goods and services named in the VAT Act (for example books, medicines, periodicals). 24% is the standard rate that applies to most goods and services unless the law provides otherwise.

When does the 0% VAT rate apply?

The 0% VAT rate applies, among other things, to exports outside the European Union and to certain other transactions listed in the VAT Act. This is different from a VAT exemption (e.g. certain financial or medical services), where no VAT is charged at all.

Can I use this calculator for several invoice lines at once?

Yes. Switch the calculation mode to "Advanced" to add several rows with different net prices and VAT rates — the calculator computes VAT and the gross price for each row and shows totals grouped by rate.
